What is Mindfulness in Education? - PPD007

Bring mindfulness into your classroom

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique. Anne Rosenberg provides insight about how to bring mindfulness into your classroom and introduce it to your students.

Anne Rosenberg is a graduate of TCNJ and currently teaches 5th-grade in West Windsor-Plainsboro, New Jersey. Anne is a passionate educator who likes to experiment with technology in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Annie teaches yoga to adults and kids.

AJ shared his take on his SGDP for this year and talked about what he’s thinking about for next year which is a student-centered classroom for differentiation.

Chris learned how to make fire! He attended a 3-hour class to learn multiple ways to start fires. He took this course through the Monmouth County Park System.


Stacey collaborated with Adam Schoenbart on Google Sheets project for the district her children go to. If you need help with Google Sheets Adam is THE MAN!


Stacey’s other PD has taken place at home as she and her husband have opened up their washing machine to perform a little DIY maintenance.
