Mike Brilla

Mike has been involved in education since 2004--serving as a social studies teacher for all but two of those years. Mike is passionate about cultivating a respectful and engaging classroom, developing a love of learning and sharing his passion for social studies with his students. Outside of teaching, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Jess (also a teacher) and his two sons Michael and Grayson as well coaching wrestling at Owen J. Roberts High School. Additionally, Mike recently launched his own podcast called My Best Lesson: Social Studies with the goal of getting social studies teachers to share what works in their classrooms with each other.
